Studio 9 has finally made it to NECON 2015! I was really excited to visit the windy city again – this time it was all about business! As a Los Angeles Commercial Interior Designer attending North America’s largest commercial interiors trade show; the experience for me was vital for product knowledge, tremendous inspiration, and a perfect opportunity to network with vendors and fellow designers. I enjoyed visiting the commercial and hospitality interiors leading industry showrooms such as Herman Miller, Knoll, Haworth, Jasper Group, Architex, Masland Carpet, Patcraft, Davis, and many more; all showcasing thousands of new products, latest trends, eco & ergonomic based products, and lots of wonderful use of color. Who said your commercial workspace had to be boring? Not any more – Red, Orange, Cobalt Blue, Hunter Green, Mustard and Canary Yellow had a very large presence through workstations, textiles, furniture, light fixtures, decorative panels – you name it! Great use of primary colors inspired me to return to my interior design studio and get right back to work! Being a Los Angeles Commercial Interior Designer, cohesive use of color for my commercial interior design projects is key. In the near future Studio 9 will be designing a 40,000 square foot warehouse for a shoe company – this trip to NeoCon was far more than educational – I had the opportunity to touch base and talk business with various LA showroom managers and business experts about their new collections of commercial workstations fit for my projects, budget, and my client’s needs. Can’t wait for NeoCon 2016! Below are photos from the trade show, me enjoying the furniture, and some of Chicago’s finest architecture! I hope you have been inspired as I was.
