Atmosphere That Colors Promote in Commercial Office Spaces

Did you purchase a commercial office space building? Or are you looking to make some changes to your current office space? Today I’ll be sharing some information for you to consider when choosing paint colors to enhance your office space. The colors you choose for your office can have a tremendous effect on your employees, clients, and other visitors.

When your clients enter your office they should feel welcomed, a soft orange such as peach would create a positive and welcoming feeling, while a soft yellow would be cheerful and happy. For example; If your business is a beauty salon, pink or a soft coral color in the reception area will give the impression that your client will be pampered and indulged. Corporate businesses such as bankers, accountants, lawyers, and financial advisers often use neutral colors, such as gray, ivory, and beige. Adding the color blue to that color palette denotes honesty, loyalty, wisdom, conservatism, security, and confidence so it is a great color for these type of businesses. Green is calming, suggesting security, growth, and money and dark green is often used by corporate businesses to indicate wealth and prestige.

Do you want your employees to feel happy and be productive at work? Here are some suggestions for colors and how choosing certain colors can make a huge difference for your business. For a general office space blues and greens will keep a calm atmosphere, but too much of these colors and staff productivity may slow. Adding a little red, orange or yellow somewhere in the interior will increase the energy flow and enhance productivity. Too much orange or peach will create a social and talkative atmosphere, while too much yellow will cause anxiety and stress in some. One of my current commercial office interiors project located in Los Angeles is ready for installation day! After almost a year of working on this project we are finally going to see the beautiful workstations from Herman Miller installed. The color palette selected for their office interiors was already chosen based on their logo colors. Luckily these colors were easy to work with; red, cyan, blue, apple green, and yellow. I determined how this color scheme was going to be implemented throughout the office through the use of paint, tile, and on the workstations I specified. Stay tuned for the final project installation coming soon in July! Meanwhile take a look at our 3D renderings conveying the commercial design concept for this 5,000 sq. ft. new construction commercial office space.
